10 Reasons to Choose Savory for Your Caterer... part 2

If you missed items 10-6 on this list, review them here: 10 Reasons to Choose Savory for Your Caterer...part 1

5. Since we're a small company we treat you like our friend and not a number.

Trust us, we're not the DMV. Our Chef gets to know each person and create a relationship with every one of our customers. We give our customers our full attention and strive to make your event our best one yet.

4. You are not confined to a set menu

Our Chef does not like to force you to choose between "option 1" or "option 2". We want this event to be full of foods YOU like. Sometimes we'll go through many revisions of your menu before we find the perfect combination. The possibilities are endless: s'mores bar, home-made root beer, entire roasted pig, mocktails, and so much more!

Our hand-made Kaiser knot sliders come in so many different varieties: sausage, turkey bacon avocado, beef tenderloin, pulled pork, turkey cranberry, etc.
We went out of the box and created this fun frothy blue raspberry mocktail for a baby shower. We love to find new and exciting ideas on pinterest!

3.  Our food is hand-made with fresh ingredients

Since we hand-make about 90% of all our food and only use the freshest ingredients, our food is better tasting. Our Chef makes the extra effort to ensure that you are served the best food. Cutting corners is NOT an option! Don't ever mention using "Cool Whip" as a quick replacement...

Hand-made chicken stock is worlds better than the flavored water in the grocery store they call "chicken stock".

2. Our customers love us

We have heard many times that this is the "best food I've tasted at a reception!" Food plays a major role in any event and we want to help make the event memorable and enjoyable. Here are what some of our other customers have said:
"[It] exceeded my expectations" -Daphni P.
"We wanted to thank you for being part of our special day - we could not have asked for a more lovely reception! You were such a huge part of our day and we are so pleased with how well the food turned out! Your set-up and presentation was absolutely gorgeous and worked so well with our theme! Thank you for your attention to detail and your eye for perfection and beauty! I can't even begin to tell you how many compliments we got on your food!" -Jenelle S.
"Thank you for your AMAZING food provided to our group while visiting Stewart Mountain lodging." -Dan W.

1. A classically trained Chef passionate about quality and having a "depth of flavor"

Our Chef's mantra is "Life is too short or ordinary food." She has a passion for food that is unrivaled and as such she is adamant about quality and flavor. She regularly creates great flavor combinations; ones that reach your five tastes and spans a variety of textures and flavors so that it changes the way you experience food.

Elegance, Lace, Pearls and Grace

Within our team of wedding professionals, we have a presentation designer who designs the look of the presentation of the food. Whether you're having a plated dinner or buffet-style appetizers, our tables are decorated to match your style, colors, and theme. Each table scape is personalized to the event and includes many personal touches.

It's all in the details

At our our most recent wedding, the bride wanted a very feminine elegance. We incorporated a lot of shiny silver and glass, crystal, white, soft pinks, candlelight, and clean lines in the buffet.

The food even matched the theme: beautiful presentation, sophisticated flavors and elegant displays. We served our pork crostini, mini potato bites, Asian pasta salad on an Asian spoon, a bubbly blue raspberry mocktail and lemon-flavored water.

We love HEIGHT on our buffets. See how many levels we incorporate.

We used a sheer pink ribbon for the detail on these candles; our designer opted for a knot instead of a bow.
The candles were displayed on these beautiful candlesticks. The elegant lace, pearl, and flower motif went well with the theme of the buffet.
Candlelight makes a BIG DIFFERENCE on a buffet! We had a variety of floating tea lights and votives in different vases. We also added details like shiny crystal and clear rocks to the vases.
This cupcake stand does more than hold cupcakes! We used it to serve our Asian Pasta salad on individual spoons. This is a fun feature for guests to get their food- we'll be using this a lot more!

We also took the opportunity to add candlelight on every tier. I love the way it looks.

We served our NEW Bubbly Blue Raspberry Mocktail on our signature light box. The back-lit surface looked so elegant with the crystal Martini glasses. We also added edible glitter in the sugar rimmer- and extra touch of flair to this sophisticated buffet.

Signage is an important part of the buffet: it informs the guests what they're eating as well as continuing to carry on the theme. Every card is handmade by our presentation designer.

Congratulations and best wishes for the happy couple!

Accessories: adding style and flair

In fashion, accessories play a very important role in your outfit. It can add flair, a pop of color or even complete the entire ensemble. Besides it's fun to see a striking necklace or a vibrant handbag.

For culinary presentation it is no different. Making your food look good is just as important as making it taste delicious. When the food is exciting to look at it provides a better entertainment factor. Take, for example the next two pictures. (both of these are taken off the web, but you get the idea)

                      VS.
Boring butternut squash soup. Looks more like baby food.                         Same kind of soup but gussied up a little. Yum!

We love to dress up our food; it look more appetizing AND we enjoy doing it! Recently we did a mocktail tasting for a couple and we had so much fun putting this non-alcoholic drinks together.

Martini glasses rimmed and ready to be filled.

A lot of things can be used to rim the edge of the glass. In the past we've used red hots, lemon heads, chocolate, citric acid (like in sour patch kids), edible glitter, koolaid punch packets, sugar, cinnamon, sprinkles and so much more.

Cherry Pina Colada

Mimosa and a Brazillian Mojito
For the rimmers, we like to incorporate the flavor of the dish. This Brazillian Mojito is like a creamy limeade with a hint of mint. For the rimmer we chopped up mint leaves and combined it with a sugar concoction.

We also like to add flair to our drinks. The mimosa has an orange skewer. Sometimes we'll put on a candied lime or tangerine slice, or a fresh watermelon or pineapple wedge. We also like to put our drinks in fun cups too. At this tasting we served Root beer in a coca-cola glass, milky mint in a milk bottle topped with a grasshopper cookie.

Dress up your event with our wide selection of mocktails!

Film Stars

Have you ever had the wish to go back and do something all over again? It doesn't have to be a big life-changing event; it can be something small like hosting a party, a school project, buying furniture, or DIY projects. We think to ourselves, "I would do it so much better this way" or "I learned a lot and wouldn't do this or that next time." With experience comes knowledge.

Well, most people getting married in Utah are getting married for the first time. Some people have a really good idea of what they what while others are still ambivalent on the details. This is part of the reason why you hire wedding professionals like Savory. We have been in the business for a while and we know the do's and don'ts for your wedding.

We also want to share our knowledge with you to make the planning easier. BrideAccess puts out these "How To" videos and we recently filmed one on mocktails!

Wedding Show

At each of the wedding shows, we like to show brides exactly what they're getting. That's why we give out delicious, mouth-watering samples like our pork crostini and blood orange pomtini

We also show brides an example of our buffet setup. We coordinate with the colors or theme of the reception to create one seamless, beautiful event. Here is a vintage modern buffet with a Tiffany blue color. Each food item is it's own piece of art and it looks delicious on the buffet.
We also add little touches like signage and fresh flowers.

Our giveaway prize for one lucky bride: our Killer Chocolate Cake. This is a multi-layer chocolate cake with buttercream frosting, a glassy ganache and garnished with raspberries.

We would love to be a part of your event! Contact us today to book your event.
